MEssage from our Ministers

TRiNITY SUNDAY
. . . The Lord, the Lord, a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger and rich in kindness and fidelity.
            Exodus 34:6

. . . blessed is your holy and glorious name. . . . - Daniel 3:26

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with all of you. - 2 Corinthians 13:13

God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. - John 3:16

“The mystery of the Most Holy Trinity is the central mystery of Christian faith and life” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 234). “The ultimate end of the whole divine economy is the entry of God’s creatures into the perfect unity of the Blessed Trinity” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 260).

God’s mercy, kindness, fidelity, grace, love, and eternal life are ours by God’s great gift. Today’s readings point to and underscore the presence and benevolence of God. It is God who chooses to welcome us into unity.

We approach this mystery of the divine indwelling of the Trinity in awe and wonder. Let us today be still and open to God’s presence and action in our lives.

AN ACT OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION

My Jesus, I believe that You are in the Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I long for You in my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. As though You have already come, I embrace You and unite myself entirely to You; never permit me to be separated from You.

Sincerely,
Fr. Mark

Stewardship ReflEctions

From our Stewardship Council

Trinity Sunday
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son…”  JOHN 3:16

Is your love conditional?  Is there a price others have to pay to receive your love and forgiveness?  Are you generous with your time, skills, money and possessions?  If you give someone something, do you expect something in return?  Do you give your time freely or do you “fit it in” when it’s convenient for you?  God desires a personal relationship with us so much that He gave us His Son, unconditionally!  Pray for a grateful and generous heart.

PRAYER TO THE HOLY SPIRIT

O most holy Trinity, Almighty God, we adore You, who give life and vigor to every creature and who shed light eternal where there is darkness. We offer you our hearts, our souls, and our whole being, today and on the days to come, that we may offer perfect praise and love to your glorious Name. Amen.

O Father almighty, we thank you wholeheartedly for all the blessings and graces You have so generously given us then and now.

O merciful Christ Jesus, wash away our sins with your most precious blood. Feel the beating of our hearts and make them like your own. Oh, dear Jesus, wipe away our tears and pardon us for our sinfulness. Be with us, O Lord, until our dying day that we may be worthy of your mercy and forgiveness.

O Holy Spirit, our guide and inspiration, lead us to the right path. And if, on our way, we encounter difficulties and trials, do not allow us to fall or lose hope. Grant us the graces we need daily that we may also share our blessings with our fellowmen. And when the time comes, O Holy Spirit, lead us to the place that is secure, full of joy and eternal peace. Amen.
Spiritual Communion
Even if one cannot sacramentally receive the Eucharist, everyone should be aware of the practice of making a spiritual communion. The following is a daily prayer for Spiritual Communion:

O my Jesus, I believe that You are in the Blessed Sacrament.
I love you above all things, and I desire to receive you into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace you as if you were already there and
unite myself wholly to you.
Never permit me to be separated from you.
Amen.

St. Anthony of Padua

1195 - June 13, 1231
Feast Day - June 13

"St. Anthony, St. Anthony, come around! Something's lost that must be found!" Did you learn this rhyme in childhood? St. Anthony of Padua is more than the patron saint for lost items. By his life, he shows a special interest in lost souls. St. Anthony was born to noble parents, but he preferred a simple life of faith to the riches of his childhood. He joined the Franciscan order in 1220. He quickly became known for his eloquence in preaching. He had a way of reaching all sorts, from nobles to clergy to those who had fallen away from the Catholic faith. In addition to preaching, St. Anthony organized supplies for the poor and negotiated release for prisoners of war between Italian city-states. On June 13, he became very ill and asked to be taken back to Padua, where he died after receiving the last sacraments. Anthony was canonized less than a year later and named a Doctor of the Church in 1946

However you or your loved ones feel lost this week, pray for St. Anthony's intercession!

Anthony should be the patron of those who find their lives completely uprooted and set in a new and unexpected direction. Like all saints, he is a perfect example of turning one’s life completely over to Christ. God did with Anthony as God pleased—and what God pleased was a life of spiritual power and brilliance that still attracts admiration today. He whom popular devotion has nominated as finder of lost objects found himself by losing himself totally to the providence of God.

We’ve all lost things we need – car keys, cell phones, that favorite sweater!  Next time you find yourself in a jam, say a quick prayer to St. Anthony, the patron of lost articles!

To thee do I hasten, O blessed Saint Anthony! Help me in my present affliction. I recommend what I have lost to thy care, in the secure hope that thou wilt restore it to me if it be to the greater glory of God and to the spiritual benefit of my soul.
