MEssage from our Ministers31st Sunday in Ordinary Time
The Lord is our God, the Lord alone! - Deuteronomy 6:5
I love you, O Lord, my strength. . . . - Psalm 18:2 Therefore, [Jesus] is always able to save those who approach God through him, since he lives forever to make intercession for them. - Hebrews 7:25 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. . . . You shall love your neighbor as yourself. - Mark 12:30-31 When two people marry, they do not promise to give 10 or 50 or 75% of themselves. They promise to give all of themselves. That’s how love is, without measure, without counting the cost. In the same way, we are to love God unequivocally, unconditionally, with all, with 100% of ourselves. We are to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. We cannot do this by ourselves, by our own power. We love by God’s grace. God, who is love (1 John 4:8), empowers us to love. Let us acknowledge, rest in, and be grateful for God’s love. Let us ask God for the grace to love God and our neighbor, for as St. John of the Cross reminds us, “In the evening of life, we will be judged on love alone.”
. . . AN ACT OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION My Jesus, I believe that You are in the Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I long for You in my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. As though You have already come, I embrace You and unite myself entirely to You; never permit me to be separated from You. Sincerely, Fr. Mark PUBLIC CELEBRATION OF MASS - COVID-19

Gospel Meditation
Dear parishioners of this beloved parish, The patronal feast of our parish is celebrated annually on November 21, the Feast of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. I would like to invite all parishioners to participate in a nine-day novena to prepare ourselves to celebrate together our patronal feast day. It is very important that we understand the beautiful meaning of this Feast Day because it will help us to love our Blessed Mother and to understand the mystery of the church as foreshadowed in scripture. For each of the nine days of the Novena, there will be special gatherings for prayer and reflection (usually in the church at 6:30 pm with Eucharistic Adoration). Then we will gather to celebrate our parish Feast Day with a solemn Mass which will be held on Saturday, November 20. (Our bishop has permitted us to transfer our parish celebration to Saturday because this year November 21 falls on a Sunday which is also the Feast of Christ the King). Below is a schedule of the events during the nine days. Parishioners may attend every day, but certain days will be dedicated to certain demographical groups (as indicated). The list includes the date, time, and the scripture passage and theme for the day. For those unable to attend these events, there will also be reflections given at our usual daily Masses and on our social media. Fr. P. Marcos PrayerspRAYER FOR THE sICK

wEEKLY mASS iNTENTIONSMonth of November
Let us pray for all the Faithful Departed.
November is called the month of All Souls. More recently, it has been called the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed. Our growth in Christian perfection takes a long time. At the time of our death, many of us might not be saints yet. But God, in His mercy, allows for those who love Him to experience purification after death. Our word for that state is Purgatory. It’s the antechamber of heaven, so to speak. Here on earth, we can pray for the souls in Purgatory. Just as we have special intentions for family and friends here on earth, we can pray for those who have died. It’s also a good act of Christian charity to pray for the forgotten, those who have no one else to pray for them. ©LPi Patricia Ferron Emonie Wesson Kathy Langford Dorothy Mae Levy Shelby Ann Quinones Modesta Chavez Hernandez Mr. & Mrs. Louis Juarez Bobby Bristol Mark Anthony Ochoa Larry Gregory Estrada iN rEMEMBRANCE OF

We pray that we are generous with our visible gifts of charitable works and giving, and that we are more generous with our invisible gifts of love, mercy, and forgiveness. |

1538-1584
Feast Day: November 4 Though Charles suffered all his life from a speech impediment, his intelligence and zeal made him an outstanding figure of the Catholic Reformation. In 1560, he was named a cardinal and administrator of the Archdiocese of Milan by his uncle, Pope Pius IV, but was kept in Rome to assist with the reconvened Council of Trent. He helped draft the council’s catechism and liturgical books, and in 1563 was ordained a priest and bishop. Finally, in 1566, he was allowed to go to Milan, where he worked tirelessly to reform priestly training and lay catechesis. He also exhausted his own funds to provide relief during periods of famine and plague. He is the patron of seminarians and catechists. “Be sure that you first preach by the way you live.” - San Carlos Borromeo Copyright © 2019, United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, Washington, DC.
