CONFESSIONS/CONFESIONES
Confessions will be available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 5:00 PM and Saturday at 8:30 AM in front of the church.

“Peace be with you!” With these words, the Risen Lord greeted his frightened Apostles in the Upper Room on the day of his Resurrection. They were troubled, anxious, and fearful—much like each one of us at some point in our lives. Christ repeated the words, “Peace be with you.” But then he added, Receive the holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them” (Jn 20:19-23).

Please enter from Harrisburg and wait along the oleander bushes on McClellan if there is a long line. Please follow signs.
For your protection and the protection of our priests, if you are coming to confession in a car or by walking up, wear a mask and maintain safe social distancing of at least six (6) feet.
Picture

OUR PARISH - FOURTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME/Cuarto DOMINGO DEL TIEMPO ORDINARIO
Just as from the heavens the rain and snow come down and do not return there till they have watered the [E]arth, making it fertile and fruitful. . . so shall my word be. . . . - Isaiah 55:10-11

Thus have you prepared the land: drenching its furrows, breaking up its clods, softening it with showers, blessing its yield. - Psalm 65:10-11

. . . in hope that creation itself would be set free from slavery to corruption and share in the glorious freedom of the children of God. - Romans 8:21

. . . some seed fell on the path, and birds came and ate it up. . . . Some fell on rocky ground. . . and it withered for lack of roots. . . . Some seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it. But some seed fell on rich soil, and produced fruit, a hundred or sixty or thirtyfold. - Matthew 13:4-8

Growth and fruitfulness do not happen magically. Preparation, an understanding of seasons, seeds, soil, water, sun, and growth, patience, diligence, hope, and tender caring are required for a fruitful harvest.

In a similar way, we need to prepare, understand, work hard, hope, trust, and care tenderly so the word of God will take root in our lives and produce a rich harvest. If we skip tilling the soil or watering, the land will not yield an increase. If we skip or ignore preparing the soil of our hearts for the richness of God’s word, we will not bear fruit for God.

Let us pray for openness of heart so we will listen to God’s word. Let us risk the hard work of tilling the soil of our lives so we will bear fruit for the Reign of God.

“Our Lady showed us a great sea of fire which seemed to be under the earth. Plunged in this fire were demons and souls in human form.... ”
(Lúcia dos Santos, Visionary of Fátima)

The terrifying and horrific vision of hell, which the Shepherd Children witnessed, “lasted but an instant.” Lúcia tells us: “We looked up at Our Lady, who said to us, so kindly and so sadly: ‘You have seen hell where the souls of poor sinners go. When you pray the Rosary, say after each mystery: O my Jesus, forgive us, save us from the fire of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those who are most in need.’”

Our Lady instructed the Little Shepherds: “Sacrifice yourselves for sinners, and say many times, especially whenever you make some sacrifice: ‘O Jesus, it is for love of You, for the conversion of sinners, and in reparation for the sins committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.’”

FOOD PANTRY DISTRIBUTION

The Church of the Presentation Food Pantry is currently distributing food on the first and third Saturdays of the month. For the month of July we will only have one distribution date: July 18th. The Food Pantry drive-thru will begin at 7:00 AM and run until approximately 8:30 AM, or until there is no food remaining. During the current Covid-19 pandemic the Food Pantry is utilizing a drive-thru approach where people will STAY in their cars and the food will be placed in their trunks. There will be no physical contact.

DRIVE-THRU FOOD DROP OFF

Our community never ceases to show what it means to put faith into action! The Social Justice Committee, along with our Food Pantry, did a fantastic job organizing this event to help the growing number of vulnerable families in our community due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thank you to everyone who donated food and time in support of those in need! Our community is AMAZING and a BLESSING!

In the above YouTube videos, Fr. Mark reflects and discusses 'meditating like a monk'. He encourages us to take this time, where we are sheltering in place, to practice mental prayer or meditation.

FATIMA AND THE BOOK OF ESTHER

AN ACT OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION
My Jesus, I believe that You are in the Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I long for You in my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. As though You have already come, I embrace You and unite myself entirely to You; never permit me to be separated from You. (Partial indulgence)

A PRAYER FOR PROTECTION IN TIME OF PANDEMIC

Please pray this prayer daily for an end to the Covid-19 pandemic.
O Mary, you always brighten our path as a sign of salvation and of hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who, at the Cross, took part in Jesus’ pain while remaining steadfast in faith. O loving Mother, you know what we need, and we are confident you will provide for us as at Cana in Galilee. Intercede for us with your Son Jesus, the Divine Physician, for those who have fallen ill, for those who are vulnerable, and for those who have died. Intercede also for those charged with protecting the health and safety of others and for those who are tending to the sick and seeking a cure. Help us, O Mother of Divine Love, to conform to the will of the Father and to do as we are told by Jesus, who took upon himself our sufferings and carried our sorrows, so as to lead us, through the Cross, to the glory of the Resurrection.
Amen.

Under thy protection we seek refuge, O Holy Mother of God.  In our needs, despise not our petitions, but deliver us always from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen.
